The new WV ATV safety regulations gives counties with comprehensive land use bills the authority to prohibit ATV's from public roads and in residentail subdivisions . Jefferson county has a land use bill and is expected to band there use on public roads .If Blue Ridge Acres desires to prohibit there use within the subdivison we must petition our county commissioner . I am one to see there use stop all together due to road damaged, safety , noise , dust and liabilities issues . If Blue Ridge Acres was ever to be sued because of ATV accidents all the land owners could be held accountable for a portion of the settlement. My family has felt the effects when young riders are left unattended .My sceond cousin is now paralyzed after his dirt bike hit a car on a public road in southern WV , he was 13 at the time .Another cousin had a young farm helper decapitated after he hit a cable going across a farm road after work .

Jerry,
This was a great passage. This has been a big problem in Blue Ridge Acres. I only hope that the local law enforcement will be cooperative in enforcing this. In the past, myself, along with a few other Board members have personally met with them and their response was that they would not try to catch these kids do to the fear of them getting hurt in the chase, and legal ramifications, if indeed they were hurt. Time will tell.
