Two houses adjacent to the big field were broken into this week. Police are investigating and people with information should contact the state police. |

Why don't we get aggressive with a neighborhood watch program again? ... make it more visible etc...something needs to be done since so many of us work during the day. Maybe even pay the people that are home to drive around with neighborhood watch sign on the side of their cars, just to show some visibility that "we aren't going to take it"! People go where it's easy for break-ins etc. Just throwing out some ideas. We really need to unite as a community. We could invite the cops and have them help us design deterrants, etc. If we all have ADT (security system) on our homes this may make it less desirable to move in! |

Melodie - after the club house burned down, we were talking about how quiet it has been this summer. Very little vandalism. No new breakins that I heard of anyway. It's hard to keep the level of vigilance high, but I'm sure if you ask around, you can get some people to ride around. Feel free to post announcements here. Chip |

Hi Chip, Did you notice the grafiti on the brick sign? I have heard of break-ins this summer and one was real close to the club house. Anyway, it was just a suggestion, but if you feel everything's fine then I am glad to hear that. Never mind then. |

Melodie - I did see the graffiti. There was some down by the spring (along Rt. 32) also. We should always protect ourselves. I always watch for cars, trucks or vans with out of state plates. Note anyone just parked or cruising back and forth around the same area. You can always contact the State Police in Charles Town if you notice anything unusual. Chip |

Hi Chip, Yes, I know what I can do ... I think my whole communication was misunderstood. I am sure most of us would report anything suspicious. I have lived here for a long time and just see the neighborhood really going down, so that is why I thought it would be good to unite as a community. But that's just me and from your feedback it sounds like I'm alone in my thinking. So, as Gilda Radner would say, "never mind!" |

Melodie, You can probably also still contact the old Neighborhood Watch people. They'd be able assist you while you wait for the State Police to respond. |

I think the best way to guage the support is to call a meeting by posting a sign up on the post office and have the meeting in the Blue Ridge Acres Office next door. Ask interested community members to attend with the aim of creating a neighborhood watch committee. At the very least it would show the commitment of the community to the issue. |

Yep, get it agressive again. The best I saw it was when everybody gathered at the club parking lot and had a major beer blast...every night. |
